We want to thank our students and staff as you continue to do your part to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We recognize that the current increase of COVID-19 cases in our province has led to many questions from our families, students and staff about whether schools will remain open. As a precautionary measure only, we want to ensure that our students, staff and families are prepared for all possible scenarios as we head into the April long weekend.
Spring Cleaning
As students head home for the long weekend on Thursday, April 1, we are asking that they take their personal belongings with them, (including winter clothing, personal learning materials, or other seasonal items). This will help to declutter classrooms, and ensure that all necessary surfaces are able to be cleaned as part of our ongoing enhanced health and safety measures.
Ready to Deploy Devices
We continue to monitor announcements from the Ministry of Education and want to assure families that we are ready to support our students who require devices at home. Schools will be deploying devices on Thursday, April 1, for those elementary students who require them. Students are asked to return devices on Tuesday, April 6 to support their continued learning. We will provide devices to students again on Friday, April 9.
At this time, students and staff are scheduled to return to school on April 6. Again, these are precautionary measures only and we will share any information related to the return on Tuesday, April 6 or the Spring Break as soon as it becomes available.
We appreciate this is a challenging time for our students, staff and families. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure learning continues for our students.
Please remember that Mental Health Resources for students are available on our website.
