March Break is only one day away: the perfect time to celebrate student learning and our shared achievements.

We are proud of the many ways Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) students are building strong foundations for learning. Guided by the WRDSB Structured Literacy Multi-Year Plan, we see students reaching important learning milestones every day in reading and writing skills.

At schools throughout our system, students are building fundamental understandings of mathematics. The WRDSB Math Achievement Action Plan supports the academic success of all learners in Kindergarten to Grade 12. The impact of our efforts show students demonstrating a 10% increase in the Grade 9 Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) results.

As we bid farewell to winter, we know that spring brings a feeling of renewal. Parents, families, caregivers and friends, as well as the educators in our schools, are ready and waiting to support students in reaching the finish line. We hope that each student continues to experience academic success, well-being and belonging.

When we return to learning and growing together on Monday, March 23, we’ll be starting the final leg of the school year. We wish students, staff, parents, families and caregivers a relaxing, enjoyable March Break and look forward to welcoming you back. We can’t wait to see all that we’ll continue to accomplish together.

Have a wonderful March Break,
