Hello Queensmount Families!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

We hope this message finds you and your families well!

We are excited to have your child back at school next week!

Our staff have been working hard throughout the summer to clean, sanitize, paint and prepare the school for the arrival of our students.

This week, our teachers and our support staff have prepared the classrooms for student arrival and learning.

We have some new staff members, including Mr. Paul Fracas who has stepped in as our temporary Principal as our current Principal, Mr. Lencz is doing well but is still on leave.

Getting down to business, please carefully read the information below. It is important for the first day.

Ensure you subscribe to our Queensmount School website by scrolling down to the very bottom of our page, adding your email and clicking on subscribe. This will keep you informed of all of the up to date information!

School starts for all grade 7 & 8 in-person and remote school learners on Tuesday, September 7th.

Our bell times are from 8:20am to 2:40pm. Please ensure your child is on time everyday but doesn’t arrive before 8:10am. When they arrive to school they must go directly to their designated homeroom class’ line up area and wait for the bell patiently.

*On the first day of school, staff will be outside greeting students and helping them find their homeroom class line up area.

Your child’s homeroom information will be sent out on SchoolDay on Friday at 3:30pm. This information will not be released prior to this time.  Thanks for your patience and understanding!

School Items -Your child will need the following items for school:

2 clean masks (we can provide one if your child forgets theirs),

sturdy backpack,

running shoes (we will be spending a lot of time outdoors in order to have mask breaks for Phys.Ed),

refillable water bottle (no fountains available, just filtered refill stations),

1 medium sized binder with dividers to separate each subject,

lined paper,

pencil case with pens, pencils, erasers, a ruler,

glue stick,

a calculator (if possible),

lunch bag with a healthy lunch,

and a SMILE with a positive attitude to learn.  🙂

*Your child should also be dressed for the weather as we will be outside as much as possible snow, rain drizzle, and shine!

*Please note: There will be no locker use to start, but your child will be assigned their own desk. Please do not send any excess items as our classroom space is limited. Personal items should be minimal and remain easy to carry home on a daily basis.
